Firm Expects Exhaustion of FY2011 H-1B Numbers By Mid-January; 53,900 H-1B Cap Subject Petitions Filed
On December 17, 2010, USCIS announced that approximately 53,900 cap-subject H-1B petitions had been filed for fiscal year 2011. This means that there are fewer than 11,100 cap-subject H-1B visas remaining for fiscal year 2011.
The announcement also indicated that 19,700 Master's cap H-1B petitions had been filed. The number of applications means that only 300 Master's cap H-1B visa numbers remain available for fiscal year 2011.
Those interested in seeking an H-1B for the current fiscal year are encouraged to submit petitions as quickly as possible. H-1B visas will be exhausted. The Chander Law Firm expects H-1B numbers to be exhausted by mid-January.
