H-1B Update: Highlights from the USCIS Webinar

On February 6, 2020, USCIS provided a webinar for potential H-1B registrants using the http://my.uscis.gov website.  Here are some important highlights:

1. Only H-1B Registrations will be filed through http://my.uscis.gov. H-1B petitions will be submitted in paper applications mailed to USCIS, just like in previous years.
2. Any current http://my.uscis.gov CANNOT be used to create an H-1B registration account.  A new account must be created with the H-1B Registrant selection toggled.  My.USCIS.Gov Applicant/Filer accounts cannot be used to file H-1B registrations.
3. H-1B Registrant accounts CAN ONLY BE CREATED on February 24, 2020 around 10:00 am EST.
4. H-1B Registrant accounts can be linked to attorney accounts by entering a code provided by the attorney.
5. After stating that Master’s Cap registrants must already hold a masters degree, USCIS clarified that the degree must be awarded anytime before filing of the H-1B petition.
6. USCIS stated 250 beneficiaries can be submitted in one registration.
7. In contrast to the findings of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, USCIS stated that a single beneficiary can be deleted from a bulk registration.

USCIS will provide more information on the H-1B registration process to attorneys during a webinar on February 11, 2020.  This webinar is expected to provide more important information on how the H-1B registration process will work.
